Word Box is a simple and free word game inspired by the classic Boggle. The game consists in creating as many words as possible by making combinations of adjacent tiles and forming valid words of no less than 4 letters. The rule is simple: only adjacent tiles can be used to create words, and they can be in horizontal, vertical, or diagonal position. To create a chain of letters, you need to click on a first tile and drag the mouse over the rest of the tiles until you cover the whole word. The interface is simple, and although it is not very attractive, the game itself is challenging and absorbing enough to keep you entertained for a while.
The program offers some features to configure, such as the language of the interface, and the sounds you want to use during the game. You can also select the any of the three dictionaries available, and set the game duration. What is more, on the developers site, you will find additional word lists to add to the game in several languages, like French, German, Catalan, and Spanish. It is also possible to play online against other users as long as you know their IP address.
The program is free and has no limitations, but works in Windows 95 to XP only.
